“Through the Tunnel” Before You Read: Prove Yourself Paragraph

I once proved myself a responsible person by doing all my chores and cleaning up after myself because my mom said that if i wanted to act like an adult that i should work like an adult. I did. I did alot for myself and she saw that i could be a mature young lady. She started respecting me more and started treating me more like an adult, which i wanted. I could go where ever i wanted and do whatever i wanted just as long as she knew where I was going and who I was with, didnt really mind it.
Im glad I could show her that I could make the right decisions and get her respect.

Thanksgiving Dinner

First Person Narration from Melissa’s Point of View
I’m so happy to see my sisters today. They are just so wonderful. I don’t get to see them often so I’m really glad there here today with all of Byron's family. Aw look at little Bruce, I think he wants a bottle right now. “Hey Byron could you make Brucie a bottle please?” yeah,”said Byron.
Man all that food really looks good right now. Hm i wonder what I’m going to get. “Aye Melissa! Hola ninas.” said Byron's tia. “Hola” said all of us. “Are you girls ready to eat?” We all looked at each other and shyly said yes. Man i filled my plate with all this good amazing food. Turkey, potatoes, potato salad, salad, bread, pie, and more stuff. Bella had the same. However Sarah put more turkey on her plate along with a big
leg. My baby Brucie was having a good time and so was everyone else. Before we ate we all went around saying what we were thankful for. I said i was thankful for having my two only sisters Sarah and Bella here today and having my baby and boyfriend here as well. I’m happy they are all happy and healthy and full of joy as well. My sisters where also thankful for having a family together for such a thankful holiday. The night was all laughter and fun, until the staff called for my sisters to go. Just before they left they filled a plate with dessert and all these good foods i cant eat anymore. Aha that’s what happens after you have a baby. Everyone said their goodbyes and my sisters said how much fun they had had. “I’ll see you next Saturday you guys”! said Melissa. “Cant wait”. “Love you all and adios” said Bella and Sarah.

Third Person Narration
Isabella and Sarah were so excited to actually spend time with family. Their sister’s boyfriend’s family made the most amazing food they could ever imagine. It went from turkey to carne asada tacos. It was what a Thanksgiving should really be. None of them could wait to dig right in. Besides the food Sarah and Isabella were also happy to see their sister again. She’s practically the only family they have, so what else could be the best day of your life then to be with family and have incredible food. Isabella and Sarah had a very thankful Thanksgiving Day.

Narrator Expository Paragraph
A narrator can influence how much a reader understands the text.
For example, in first-person narration the narrator uses the pronoun “I” which makes the reader understand who is talking. --But in third-person limited/omniscient narration the narrator writes about the characters thoughts. --The difference is you get to read the different points of views as being the reader or character --The third-person limited narrator/omniscient is more credible because it has more emotion and thoughts, and by that it’s kind of as if you are the character’s mind. Closing Sentence: --Many reader enjoy reading stories written using first person narration because its more enjoyable to hear the characters in the story talk than rather have the boring narrator talk. You would want to read about their feelings and about how exciting the story really is..

"The Storyteller" Another Point of View

The story my aunt was trying to tell us was so stupid. I didn’t listen not one bit. So now that her story was no good the bachelor is going to tell us a story of his own. It was about a girl who was extraordinarily good. All she did was good deeds and was just so polite to others and for this she had three medals. One medal for obedience, another one for punctuality, and the last one for good behavior. Maybe it’s not always good to be so good now is it. Well at the end she got eaten for being so good, what a pity. It was the only beautiful story I have ever heard.

"The Storyteller" Before You Read: Memorable Books from My Childhood

1. three little monkeys
2. cat in the hat
3. the little engine that could
4. the giving tree
4. curious george

The little Engine that could is a very good book for kids to read. A big strong hard working train didnt think it could pull itself up the hill. He just didnt have self confidence. As he was stuck just sitting there a littlier train came and just kept saying "I think I can, I think i can, I think i can. He pulled himselve up that hill and then he new he could too.

5.
i really like the book The Giving Tree because its about a giving tree who just gives and gives and gives. all the tree wants is for the boy to be happy. but, now the boy is getting older and the tree just cant satisfie him anymore so its sad how him and the boy come apart. in the end he still loves the tree.

Dragons' Den First Semester Week 11: Sports & Grades

Prompt:
In order to play sports, student athletes in San Diego must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Do you think students should be required to have good grades in order to play sports?

Yes, beacuse maintaing a good grade is important. Say you were to get hurt playing your sport and couldnt play it anymore you would have had a good GPA to get a good job. I mean you get to have fun playing the sports you like so why not just keep a good GPA. Just something to fall back on.
